What Attracted You To Earth SonSpirit?

I had always wanted to see more positive networking amongst men - something more than the stereotypical bonding which occurs around sports teams and legends.

I created Earth SonSpirit with this in mind - a place where we can dream, share our gifts, receive nurture and support in the pursuit of our goals. Women also, are invited to join and participate. They are very instrumental in our healing and self-discovery.

Believe it or not, men are victims - as well as beneficiaries of Patriarchal society - and have the wounds to show. There is a great need for healing of cross the boards, in more ways than not.

Now that I have said my piece, I'll ask the question:

What attracted you to Earth SonSpirit?

There is a general void in the discussions among Black men in America. Its rare for me to find conversations about excellence, higher standards and self mastery. After tuning into a radio show featuring Yusuf & Sadakael and hearing them speak so intelligently on these topics I felt this could be a place where thoughts and ideas I"ve held onto for years could be freely shared and expressed. I'm so glad I came to the site.

I also look forward to networking with brothers who are on the rise & ready to lift fallen humanity one man, woman, child, family at a time.

I believe that the world is moving toward equality among human beings. Being a black woman in America I quality to testify on the inequality of women and declare that these inequalities are second to none save the actual slave trade itself. Throughout history men have been portrayed as the rulers of the world. I have studied other civilizations where women did indeed rule. Matriarchal societies existed in the Motherland and other places long ago. These societies are played down, and their significance lessened because men felt it necessary to let it be known that only men have been, are, and will continue to be the true rulers of the world.

There is nothing more beautiful than the relationship that exists between men and women. When men and women unite they are closer to God, heaven and nirvana than at any other time. If we could spend more time and energy improving our relationships -- psychologically, physically, intellectually and sexually -- the world would indeed be a better place. The love that unites men and women is phenomenal, and more importantly, men and women are mirrors of each other.

Until we can see the folly of our violence and attempt a more peaceful lifestyle for our families, communities and nations, there will be wars and rumors of wars -- such as the patriarchal bible states. Until we can see the folly of spending all available time, money, resources (both human and the earth's) on preserving the "status quo" we will not be able to use our brain power, (wo)man power and resources on those things that can make our world a better place, a disease free place, a hunger free place and a place where all women (and men) kind can coexist in happiness, joy and love.

I believe that wars are fought because people expect everyone to have the same beliefs that they do, and if they don't they believe there is something wrong with them -- they are different therefore they are WRONG. People think their religion is the ONLY correct religion. We talk about religious JIHADs -- but religious jihads are the cause of all wars. We are fighting religious jihads in the Middle East right now. We want other countries to be democrats and to worship our One God. In truth, people desire joy, and only fight because of that fear that someone will try to change their minds about their preconceived notions of what life -- what religion is all about -- and what "thus saith THEIR god."

I followed Diva Mama Tony's link on her facebook and am so glad I did! I wanted and do love to hear the perceptive of upward moving brothers. It helps me grow as a women, especially a women who fights the cause for the WOMB. I have come in contact with wonderful men who desire balance in all walks of life, however I did not know of any online social groups. So I am very happy to be here and it is such a treat to hear you all speak..
